Is Jagua Safe? Everything You Should Know
Before you try any temporary tattoo, it is smart to ask what is actually going on your skin. Here is the honest answer about jagua. What jagua actually is Jagua gel is made from the Genipa Americana fruit, a tropical plant that has been used for body art for centuries. It is 100% natural, vegan and free from synthetic dyes. The PPD difference You may have heard about "black henna" reactions. Those are caused by PPD (paraphenylenediamine), a harsh chemical added to darken and speed up dye. Our jagua and henna are always PPD-free, no synthetic dyes, no solvents. The color comes from the plant itself. Safe for all skin tones Natural jagua develops a deep blue-black on every skin tone and is gentle enough for most people. As with any product applied to skin, we recommend a simple patch test on a small area 24 to 48 hours before your first full design. A few smart habits Use products from a source you trust, avoid anything marketed as "instant" or "jet black henna" (a red flag for PPD), and keep designs away from broken or irritated skin.
